Matcha Green Tea Pudding is a delightful and unique dessert that combines the earthy flavors of matcha with a creamy, smooth texture. This pudding isn’t only delicious but also packed with antioxidants, making it a guilt-free treat.
The vibrant green color of matcha adds a beautiful touch to your dessert table, making it perfect for special occasions or just a simple weeknight dessert. Using an Instant Pot simplifies the cooking process, allowing the pudding to come together quickly without the need for constant stirring.
The combination of milk, sugar, and matcha creates a luscious pudding that can be served chilled, topped with fresh fruits or whipped cream for added indulgence. Whether you’re a matcha lover or new to this vibrant green tea powder, this pudding is sure to impress.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup matcha green tea powder
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh berries or whipped cream (for serving, optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the matcha powder, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until well combined. This will help to prevent clumping when you add the liquid.
- Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients while whisking continuously to create a smooth mixture. Make certain there are no lumps of matcha or cornstarch.
- Pour the matcha mixture into the Instant Pot. Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and select the “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” setting. Set the timer for 5 minutes.
- Once the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes before performing a quick release for any remaining pressure. Carefully open the lid and stir the pudding to verify it’s smooth and creamy.
- Pour the pudding into silicone molds or ramekins, and let them cool to room temperature. Once cooled, cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
- Serve the matcha pudding chilled, garnished with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
Extra Tips:
To enhance the flavor of your pudding, consider adding a splash of almond extract along with the vanilla. For a richer texture, you can use full-fat coconut milk instead of regular milk. If you prefer a sweeter pudding, adjust the sugar to your taste.
To make it visually appealing, layer the pudding with fresh fruits or serve it in clear cups to showcase the beautiful green color.
